Ingredients
- 1/3 cup uncooked quinoa, or 1/2 cup quinoa flakes
- 2/3 cup water (for cooking quinoa grains)
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup quick-cooking oats
- 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 1/2 cups bread flour

Gather the ingredients.

To a saucepan, add the quinoa and cover it with the water. (If using quinoa flakes instead of raw quinoa, skip this step). Bring to a boil and cook for 5 minutes, covered. Turn off the heat and let quinoa sit, covered, for 10 minutes.

Check your bread machine directions for the correct order to add the ingredients. Add all the remaining ingredients to the bread machine, including cooked quinoa (or quinoa flakes).

Program machine for a whole grain loaf and bake.

Let the bread cool for 15 minutes before slicing.
