Tisana/ Herbal Teas Recipes



Herbal teas(“Tisana” in Italian), infusions or tisane are technically not teas because they’re not made from the leaves of the tea bush. However, they’re made in a similar way to tea: the leaves, flowers, seeds or roots are infused in hot water until the flavor has been extracted. Some herbal teas are believed to have therapeutic properties, but they are also popular because they do not contain caffeine or tannin. Popular flavors include camomile, rosehip, peppermint and lemon balm. Rooibos, or redbush ‘tea’ is technically not a tea but the leaves of a herb grown in the South African Cedarberg Mountains. The herbs are sun-dried and naturally fermented, caffeine-free and low in tannin. Serve like tea, either black or with milk and/or sugar.

Tisana de Limón, Menta y Miel Recipe (Lime, Mint & Honey Tisane )

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 20 minutes

Total Time: 25 minutes

  • 12 leaves from a lime or lemon tree
  • 6 mint leaves
  • 8 cups of water
  • 1 lime or lemon
  • Honey or sugar


  • Wash the leaves.

  • In a deep pot (preferably stainless steel) heat the water until it comes to the boil.

  • Add the lime and mint leaves and cook over very low heat until the water has reduced to half or has a light green color.

  • Remove from the heat and add 1 tablespoon of lime juice

  • Remove leaves.

  • Sweeten with honey or sugar to taste.

  • Serve hot.

Rosemary Infused Tea


  • 4 to 6 sprigs of rosemary, or 6 tablespoons orange pekoe tea leaves in a diffuser
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons honey, at room temperature


    1. Place the rosemary and honey in a French press or teapot, cover with boiling water, and let the mixture infuse for about 5 minutes.
    1. Plunge or strain the rosemary infused tea and sip it warm or at room temperature.

Simple Thyme And Fennel Tea

Prep Time: 2 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Servings: 2 cups


  • dried thyme- 2 tsp
  • dried fennel seeds - 1 tsp
  • boiling water - 200ml


Put the thyme and fennel seeds in a cup then pour the boiling water over it. Cover up and leave to rest for 10 mins. See eve and enjoy.

A good tsp of honey will make this drink very soothing and pleasant.

A comfortable sofa, a good book and a warm blanket will complete it all.
